Hush little Baby

Last Saturday, during my flea, i realised that my feet were all swollen, fat and pudgy like.

It hit me, "Shucks! My water retention has begun!"

I've never had that prior, unlike most of my friends who are/have been pregnant. So thank god i have my mother's genes in that sense. I noticed them as i was wearing my new leopard print pumps when i saw that i had 'kankles' and my feet look like that of a stuffed animal, so i immediately told my mum when i met her during the flea and confirmed my thoughts. My mother has a brilliant way of making me nervous. She told me when she started having swollen feet and hands, it was just a matter of days before she gave birth. So you can tell by now, after hearing her say that, i was all nervous.

"But I haven't even bought the bed for our baby yet!"

I've always prided in the fact that i have slim feet, many told me i had the perfect feet for any type of heels. (Hence why i hardly have any sneakers, my feet are too slim, and wearing sneakers, the shoes just look kind of deflated you know?) Then a couple of days ago, the brother came over to collect some letters and bills that were mailed here and commented, "Eh Cher, how come your feet are so fat? Your toes are like cocktail weiners!!"

Moving on, i made an order for the baby cot/playpen yesterday so as to ensure that my little girl has somewhere to sleep should i go into labour anytime soon. (Thanks mum for making me this nervous!) The cot is a gift from my GodFather and my Aunt and i'm sure Little K is going to love it too. :) After doing extensive research, i settled on a Graco one. I've read so many reviews on their items, and a good 90% of it, the vast majority loved their products, and even stated that they lasted good and long. I do understand that a playpen, the lifespan of a child sleeping in it, is only a max of 2/3 years, but the way i see it, by the time she's 3, we would get her a small bed to move her up to 'big girl-hood' so to speak. So i present to you, our Little Princess' throne, the Graco Silhouette Pack 'n Play Silhouette Milan.

I LOVE IT! I mean, WE LOVE IT! :) I love how the colours are so classy! And it's relatively quite big! Love it! And comes with a changing top as well, which can be take out if chosen to. The playpen pays 5 different songs/tunes as well as vibrates, which is known to help baby sleep. Comes with lights which shines into baby sleeping area, should you need it of course. This is arriving later in the afternoon, and i'm just going to leave it to Sham to set up, that's the man's job afterall. We still have yet to buy the pillows etc. We'll do that over the weekend as i need to pick up more swaddle blankets for her. Oh but don't you just love the colours! :D

We've also picked out the stroller which my parents are getting for us as a gift. But they're all superstitious and will only buy it when i deliver, which works well for me because that means, more storage space for now. :)

Though, if money dropped from the skies, or i pooped gold coins, i would so get the Joolz NAUTIC LIMITED EDITION which looks amazing! I'm a sucker for things that have this classy look. (This is retailing for a whopping SGD$2,498)

And this pram, oh how i am lusting for thee! Classic look, vintage and just amazing! Come, lust with me over this Silver Cross Kensington Pram in Soft Pink. This costs GPB£895 which is about SGD$1800 without shipping. (I don't even know if they will ship here)

Enough with my lusting already. It's just making my heart pain. :( But we picks a good stroller which is light enough for me to handle on my own, and looks sporty and modern, which i dig as well. Plus, it comes in RED! Maximum love! We've picked the Quinny Zapp Xtra in Rebel Red. Though we have to get a maxi-cozy for our bubs in her first few months. But it's easy to use, easy to keep and is not bulky.

That's all i have to share with you for now. Thanks for reading! :)

ps: we've just got the aircon installed, thanks to Sham's parents who have gifted it to us! That means, a cool good nights sleep! YAY! :)

ScrapBooking 101

A couple of weeks ago, i came across an Arts & Crafts shop down at Tampines One Mall. I've always had a soft spot for places like that. So browsing through the store, i found that they sell scrapbook albums. You know the ones which comes with all the pieces cut out and little bits and pieces of stickers and ribbons etc. I've always been big on scrapbooking, having done many over the years for myself and friends. Most of my personal diaries are scrapbook like, with magazine cuttings, old cinema tickets and what have yous stuck inside. I always found that it added that extra touch and made it even more personal. So you can guess by now, how delighted i was to find that scrapbook album and yes, i bought it too!

The album itself is retailing at SGD$49.90. The 3D stickers on the side, Sham and i bought individually. Those were rather pricey actually. One was SGD$10.90 so you do the math. We very excitedly rushed home that day and unwrapped the kit to get right on to doing it, only to realise that of all things, we forgot to get the most important item, GLUE. Major bummer.

Well then, we bought the glue sometime last week, as well and some extra stickers. And we've very excitedly started on the first 3 pages of the scrapbook album. The first page still does not have any pictures as i plan to do a have a proper picture taken when our little Princess arrives, so it would be the start of our little family album. :) We've decided to start the album out with all her ultrasound pictures to show much much she has grown, i figured, when she's big enough and looking at the album, she would smile and give us both a kiss for making such an album for her. :D

Just in case anyone was wondering, i bought 2 different kinds of glue, one in the large tube for sticking ribbons, buttons and paper cuttings. It dries real fast, grabs things real well, and dried clear. The other 'glue' i bought came in a tape like thing, like one of those correction tapes? That one i use for photographs, as should you want to remove the photo from where ever you pasted it on, it won't destroy it and is easy to come off, but still sticks well.

I had so much fun getting the first 3 pages done. I did not follow the instructions to a T but went about doing it in my own style. I still have my balloons from my baby shower here at home, and i plan to cut it up and stick it inside as well. For memories sake you know! :) Now i can't wait to collect more pictures from Sham and from my mother of us as a baby to add into the album for our little girl. My hands are itching to do more but i have no pictures to add just yet! :(

I can't wait to get started on some new pages! So i'm going to force Sham to go search for some of his old photos with his [arents and grandmother, and i'll be making my mum search for some nice ones of me and her. I'll end this off with some baby photos of both Sham and I. Sham's on the right. Wasn't he just the cutest baby! Thats my father on the left photograph with my younger brother, Jared. Reason why my dad looks Chinese is because he is half chinese. :) Half Chinese half Portuguese. My grandmother was Chinese. So that's why i look like a little Chun Li! :D

The Baby Shower

A couple of weeks ago, i held my mini baby shower/gossip catch-up session with some of my closest friends and family in one of the rooms at The Ritz Carlton. I had planned some games, but decided to scrap it last minute as i could not get some of the items needed for the games ready in time. I swear, if i could, i should split myself in half, and i would be able to do everything without stressing out.

I did manage to get all the food and drinks ready. Trust me, i always forget something. Food was delicious! My friend's mum cooked some of the food. So i had some fried bee hoon, curry puffs, putri salat, cupcakes, cookies etc. They say a picture speaks a thousand words, so let the pictures do the talking. :)

Thank you for all the gifts! I'm sure Princess K will love them because her mummy absolutely loves them all! Baby K is a little branded though, check out the Dior baby bottle! Geez..i don't even own anything that branded yet. (Does my Kate Spade handbag count? :p) Baby K has a little stuffed toy which i named Fluffy the Pink Elephant! And it's so soft! Cant wait to get her cot into the house so i can place it at the corner of her bed. :)

Here's a shout out to everyone that came, you know who you are. It was wonderful to see everyone again, especially after such a long time. Thank you to my family who has been nothing but awesome throughout, giving me all the love and support i need. I'm so blessed. A big thank you to Aishah, Shyanne & Hudah who shared my stress during this phase. And to all the boys that were at Sham's "Baby Shower" thank you for popping into my room to pass me presents for our baby. I'm so touched. It's just a month left till this little Princess arrives, i'm sure you all are waiting in anticipation as are Sham and I. Love all of you plenty! <3

Sugar Skulls

A couple of months back, before i found out i was pregnant, i was making arrangements to get a photoshoot done of me and a girlfriend deck out as 'Sugar Skull' models. I'm big on the whole make up look, and thought it would be great for my Book. Or some would call it, Portfolio. To say the least, i still have not done that shoot. LOL. But it is definitely in my list still, and i WILL do it, hopefully within this year. =)

I love the make up! I find it is so intense, and was shot beautifully! So definitely one of those shoots I have to just get done! So today i finally managed to catch Lady Gaga's latest video, Born This Way. Geez...you have to hand her props man. Her videos are so outta this world! But then one part i saw her with make up similar to the above!! It's darker though, but beautiful none the less.

LOVE IT! It is crazy cool. And just so darn artistic! I'm more determined than ever now to get my photoshoot done! I just had to share this find.

I'm off to spend the weekend at Sentosa celebrating some very special people's birthday. I'm still editing some photos for the next blog post so stay patient with me! Have an awesome weekend! :)

Pretty Feet

With the baby well on her way, and just about a month left too, that can only mean one thing! I CAN START WEARING MY HEELS AGAIN! Time to dust the heels i have stored! I've always been a heels kinda girl. I own ONLY 4 flats. My Adidas Superstar's, Puma Rudolf Dassler Pumps, Charles & Keith Studded Pumps and my Puma Alexander McQueen's. Well, you don't count slippers right?

So lately i've been crazy for animal prints. But only for shoes. I don't fancy them on my clothes, i find it a tad bit too tacky. But prints on shoes? I'll take that anytime! I've been on the hunt to look for the perfect heels! At first it was only for Leopard prints, but now, oh boy! oh boy! I found a zebra print one i'm absolutely mad about! It comes in the leopard print version too. But for some reason, it just doesn't look as good? Take a look!

See what i mean? I think they're both mad beautiful, but the prints on the leopard one just ain't 'popping' for me. Where as the zebra one, oh good gosh! I'm crazy about! Both the shoes above are USD$25 from GoJane.com which is such a steal! Think about it, shoes like that in the retail stores are gonna cost way more than that! Plus they have free shipping within the continental US above USD$50. (I use VPOST to ship it to Singapore, i find it is cheaper.)

So i looked around the whole website to find other items i might take a fancy to but failed miserably. :( Everything i went "OOOH!' for, was not in my size. I'm a 6.5, so it's a little hard as most of the time, shoes in that size is the first few to go. I searched high and low and finally settled on these pretty babies.

I've been searching high and low for sandles like that! I love how it looks! I first saw them on a girlfriend of mine, and i knew i had to get myself a pair. The one above is in faux suede which also comes in a red version. But well, i decided on black as the other shoes i grabbed were already pretty 'loud'. Sandal's are USD$24.80. The last pair i got, i HAD to get. See my love for prints? The leopard flats were going at just USD$12.70!! Now you tell me where you can find that in Singapore for that price?! Anyways, as much as i adore my heels, i am having a new born baby soon and i can't be wearing heels all the time! So i still should invest in some pretty shoes to adorn my pretty feet! :)

Now to just sit my pretty butt down and wait for the arrival of these babies! Oh i cant wait! I can imagine all the ways to dress up!

So tell me, what kind of shoes tickles your fancy?

Just for Laughs!

Pouty Jolie Lips!

Email |

By CherylDee · March 7, 2011

Guess who's got Angelina Jolie's lips? *Drum roll* Our little girl!!! I had my check up today and when my doc was taking a picture of my little girl for me, we caught her pouty lips this time round! My doc was all, "You're daughter has Angelina's lips! Pouty!" and you know what? It is just like her Mummy! :D  Looks like Daddy is going to have a tough time with boys in the future! Heh.

Check out her pout!

So i was initially freaking out when i had to take my weight at the Docs, only because i put on 2kilos in a span of 3 weeks! That is ALOT to me! But then after my check up, my doc told me, it's not so much me this time round, it's actually our little girl who had packed on the pounds. Last check up, she was tall and slim, and doc told me to eat more so that she puts on more weight, so i'm really glad that she's starting to fatten up now! She weighed about 1.4kilos and today she weighs 2.1kilos!! So my doc reckons, by the time i finally pop, she'll weigh about 3.6kilos, boy is that one heavy baby! So long as she's heathy, i have no complains! (No wonder my back has been aching so bad lately!!)

Which reminds me, a friend of mine told me that MotherCare is having a mega sale down at Harbour Front! I SO WANT TO GO! So here's some info for you!

I've told Sham about it, so now i can't wait till we can go too! Ooh! The sale couldn't have come at a better time! Do check out their webpage for more info, MotherCare SG

Last week, i hauled a little during a flea i was having for my online shop. I've a new found love for fleas and their cheap stuffs! So i picked up some cosmetics, as everyone should know, i'm a sucker for! It just so happen to be from the booth next to mine which was selling cosmetics from $6-$10 only! They carried brands like Maybelline, Nyx etc. I don't know what has gotten into me, but lately i've come to realise that i'm SO into lipsticks. I never was one into it, and now i suddenly am! Which is so weird! Here's my loot anyways!

I love Nyx products! I bought my first Nyx lipstick last year, Circe which is one of their popular shades for a nude lip followed by a nice pinky shade, B52 which i think is amazing. I love the texture of their lippies which are creamy! Only that they don't last long on your lips, but hey, for $6 a lipstick, i should not be complaining! So at the flea, i picked up Doll and Terra Cotta.

Doll is on the pinky side, with a sort of raspberry colour undertone which is great for my skin tone! (I'm more to the yellow undertone so anything on the pinkier side, is good for me.) I love the colour and it reminds me of Spring for some reason. Perhaps its a 'Spring' kinda colour? As for Terra Cotta, it's not usually a colour i would pick out as it's more to the brown shade. It's a deep shade of reddish-brown, but sometimes it comes across as a little orangey peachy if you know what i mean. For my skin tone, i find Terra Cotta is a little too deep to wear in the day, but would be a perfect shade for the evening or night wear.

I also picked up Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind liquid foundation which was going at $10 which i have yet to try. It's such a dewy colour, my shade is Natural Ivory Light 3 if anyone was wondering. Like i said above, my skin is more to the yellow undertone, so i try and pick out items that are dewy and more on the pinkier tone so that i look 'livelier'. Both my mother and Sham have commented on how pale my skin is, i blame it on my quarter Chinese blood. I've tested the foundation on my hand and it blends real well leaving my skin smooth. I'll update more when i use it properly. :)

The other Maybelline item is also in their Instant Age Rewind range, but is their Cream Compact Foundation. I tried this today when i went for my check up at the Docs, i LOVE it! I was a little worried that it might come out cakey, but it didn't. It blended well into my skin, and i had such a flawless finish. I didn't even have to use concealer for my under eyes! And what they say is so true, a little goes a long way. Oh, yes, both items are Spf18 each!

Oh yes, about 2 weeks ago, some new stock i ordered into my online shop arrived, and i fell inlove with W7's Mega Matte Lips. W7 is a drug store brand in the UK, probably sold in Boots. I decided to buy myself 3 out of their 5 shades. Yes i said BUY. I still have to pay for the items i want, even if it is from my own 'shop' because, well, that's business. So as i was saying, their Mega Matte Lips comes in little tubes, like lip glosses, but once you apply it, it dries matte on your lips! (Just as the name suggests!) It also lasts really long, so touch ups don't come often! I love how natural the colour looks, only problem is that i have naturally dry lips, so this makes it extra dry. But that's the price you pay for beauty!

There is 2 other shades, Danger Red and Nude. So if anyone is interested, check it out here Crimson Rose - W7 Cosmetics

Oh yes, i also picked up some new OPI lacquers. They were just $12 at the flea. Such a steal! And one booth even sold me the first for $12, second for $10 and third for $8! I also picked up the much raved aout Sache Vite top coat which is the fastest drying topcoat. I EFFING LOVE IT!! Best buy ever! Plus, i'm so impatient when it comes to waiting for my nails to try, so this is like the perfect thing for me and impatient people alike.

Such pretty colours eh? So i ended up painting this on my nails last Friday, using OPI's It's Totally Fort Worth It as a base and a plain black for the patterns. It's a little messy, only because i got lazy half way. LOL

That's all i have for today. I'll leave you with a picture of our 'son', GumGum the cat who was nicely basking in the sun earlier today. Thanks for reading! :):)

Shopping sure is a girl's bestfriend!

By CherylDee · March 2, 2011

I've been told to stop shopping by Sham. Okay, so maybe i went a little overboard. But, it's very hard to turn it down! Besides, i'm not shopping for myself, i'm shopping for our little girl. But i suppose he is right. She will be growing rapidly fast, and in no time, she'll have to change into new sizes. So i really ought to chill. :)

I still have not managed to get the MotherCare membership. I'm $70 short of the total $300 to get it. :( Slowly but surely, i'll get that card! :D Anyways, i love their range for their onsies! I've raved about it in a previous post, and i will continue to rave at how awesome i think it is. I love the material, patterns and most of all, $48 for a pack of 7 short sleeved onesies or $50 for a pack of 7 long-sleeved ones? TOTAL STEAL!

The only problem i have with it is that the girls section, everything is all pinks, whites, purples, yellows etc but in the boys section, you get blacks and navy blues! I don't see why they don't have those colours for girls too. As you might have guessed it, i bought boys onesies for my little girl. Only because they are way COOLER. :) I also saw a 3 for $20 pants as well as 3 for $3 button t-shirts, together, makes it perfect for either pyjamas, or day wear out! And yes, i grabbed them from the boys section too!! *BEAMS*

Look how cute it is! With those cute animals. I love it because the animals look so silly. I burst out laughing when i picked it up. Can you spot the hippo? It's the silliest of the lot! The onesies are my absolute favourite!! Because it's all so nautical! Plus, i also have a nautical dress, would be so matching with my little girl. Now to get Sham something nautical too! Besides being all nautical, some were printed with cute little robots, which i adore! That's why i posted it up at the top as Daddy Sham and Mummy Cher. :)

Now i just need to find some cool punk rock baby clothes and i'll feel complete! I know i'll never find it here in singapore, but i'm sure i can find it online, or you know what? I'll just create my own! Yes, that's a brilliant idea!

So i just stalled away and decided to Google for some, and VIOLA! I hit jackpot!

I love it! Now i'm so tempted to make an online order, but i know Sham would kill me, so perhaps, i'll beg him to order some! :) Heh. I know there's alot of people here in Singapore who don't believe that kids/babies/toddlers should be in anything with skulls on them. To me that's all Taboo. I'm fine with it,  i think it's art and, well, if you don't appreciate something like this, your problem really. Just don't come preaching to me about it please. Thanks.

Anyways, i picked up Princess K's first stuffed toy as well as a soft blankie from MotherCare as well. It's SO SOFT and very cuddly! So i can't wait to get her crib in, so i can get right into decorating her cot with all things comfy and some little toys. :) I've named the giraffe Shmit. We also received some new ones during my baby shower, but i'll save that for another post.

I'm starving, so i guess this is my cue to end this post. I'm craving a whole bunch of stuffs. From 126 Dim Sum from Geylang, to Rochor Beancurd to Adam road's Prawn Noodles. Sigh. How to eat everything??

About Me
